WeHo plans drive-through youth Halloween event

Independent Staff Report

WEST HOLLYWOOD — The city’s Recreation Services Division will host its annual youth Halloween event reimagined with health and safety protocols as a “Trunk or Treat” drive-through event from 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 24 in the north parking lot of Plummer Park, 1200 N. Vista St.

Participants are asked to register in advance and choose a time slot to appear at the park. A dashboard pass will be provided to registered participants during the event check-in.

In accordance with safety protocols, face coverings are required during this activity along with appropriate physical distancing. Patrons must remain in their vehicles during the event, which is free for all ages.

Participants can experience the sights and sounds of Halloween and enjoy a fun and safe way to trick-or-treat in the car while maintaining safe social distancing. There also will be cars decorated in various Halloween themes parked along the perimeter of the parking lot for viewing pleasure as participants drive through at their registered time. Children will enjoy seeing a pumpkin patch, listening to Halloween music provided by a spooky West Hollywood DJ, and will take home craft activity kits and swag items, prizes, candy and more.

The event will follow COVID-19 health and safety measures in compliance with health officer orders and Protocols established by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. The event has been set up with a limited maximum occupancy 50 cars per time slot in order to ensure adequate social (physical) distancing and face coverings are required.
