Culver City’s Fiesta La Ballona returns with free admission

CULVER CITY — The city’s annual summer festival will take place Aug. 22-24 at Veterans Memorial Park, featuring live entertainment, carnival rides and food vendors.

Fiesta La Ballona runs Friday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. The event includes a beer and wine garden, food trucks and a vendor village with local artisans.

“There is no better time to come together as a community,” Mayor Dan O’Brien said. “Our annual Party in the Park is a cherished tradition that brings our Culver City community together in celebration.”

Admission is free, though carnival ride wristbands are available for purchase. Pre-sale wristbands can be bought through 9 p.m. Thursday.

The festival will offer entertainment on a main stage throughout the weekend. A complete schedule is available on the Fiesta La Ballona website.

Festival organizers will operate two entry points with metal detectors and bag checks. Doors open 30 minutes before event hours. The main entrance is located off Culver Boulevard, with a second entrance at Barman Avenue.

Attendees can park free at the Sony Entertainment Overland Parking Structure at Overland Avenue and Palm Court Way. Parking is available on levels 2-5 with accessible spaces near elevators. Limited accessible parking will also be available at parking lot #3 at Veterans Memorial Park.

Shuttle bus service will run from the parking structure to the festival grounds. Service operates Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Bike Culver City will provide secure bike valet service near the Culver Boulevard entrance. Culver CityBus offers bicycle racks on buses for riders combining cycling with public transit.

The festival will include Aquacade events at the Culver City Municipal Pool Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Activities include arts and crafts, inner tube use and lap swimming. Friday evening will feature a dive-in movie showing of “Aquaman & The Lost Kingdom” at 7:30 p.m.

Veterans Memorial Park will remain closed to regular use throughout the weekend, reopening Monday.

Pets are not permitted at the festival. Only trained service dogs complying with ADA requirements will be admitted.
