BOOK CORNER: Children’s book challenges readers  to noodle through their crankiness

In an imaginary world everyone is pretty cranky because they’re driving KrautMobiles invented by Sour Croodleman. KrautMobiles run on sauerkraut and make everyone and everything smell like it.

Herbie Snoodleman comes along with an invention that changes everything: the SnoodleMobile. This car is powered by noodles and fills the air with a delicious aroma. The SnoodleMobile angers Sour Croodleman and when he seeks revenge on Herbie Snoodleman something terrible happens.

So goes the children’s book, “Snoodles, Kidoodles, Poodles, and Lots and Lots of Noodles,” by Steven Joseph.

The book was inspired by a series of posts to the author’s blog.

“I write stories exploring crankiness on my blog at www.StevenJosephAuthor.com, so at the time, you see the polarization that is going on with people being cranky about a pandemic,” Joseph said. “I wanted to write a story about people coming together, being creative and trying to make the world a better place.”

“Snoodles, Kidoodles, Poodles, and Lots and Lots of Noodles” is intended for children ages 6 to 12, but the feel-good story may appeal to adult readers as well. Joseph hopes readers of his book experience “belly laughs, lots of smiles and inspiration.”

“People, and kids of all ages, have to read stories where anything is possible, and where we can make things better,” said the author. “It shows us what can be accomplished with some inspired creativity.”

The exciting story can encourage readers to overcome their problems and find ways to be less cranky. Readers will find themes around problem-solving, trying to get along, tackling challenges and the importance of using their “noodles.”

“This is a book that shows that we can overcome our problems, be creative and find a way to make a better and less cranky future,” Joseph said.

In addition to being an author Joseph is an attorney. He is based in Hoboken, New Jersey. For more information about the author and his work, visit StevenJosephAuthor.com.
