Bass seeks to streamline process for film permits

Mayor Karen Bass held the first meeting of her Entertainment Industry Council last month, hoping to draw upon senior entertainment industry leaders’ expertise in improving how the city works with production companies. This week, Bass issued her eighth executive directive focused on streamlining the permit processes for local film and TV shoots.

Migrant students complete summer program at L.A. Zoo

Students from the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Migrant Education admire student projects at the Los Angels Zoo July 17 at the Family Day event marking the end of the summer program. Participants met with animal care experts and learned about the conservation work being done by the zoo.
