Music icon Stevie Wonder is lending his name and support to the #SpeakYourVote movement by issuing an invitation to creatives to record their short video clips to express what voting means to them. The campaign hopes to inspire millions of young people to get registered, get informed and get to the polls.

Actress Juanita Moore, who was nominated for an Academy Awards for her role as Black housekeeper Annie Johnson in the 1959 remake of ‘Imitation of Life,’ will be honored posthumously with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Oct. 18. Margaret Avery, Jayne Kennedy, Debbie Allen and film critic Leonard Maltin will speak at the ceremony.

Comic legend George Wallace will be honored Oct. 15 at the Catalina Jazz Club at the annual charity fundraiser of the Angela & John Witherspoon Foundation for the Arts. The foundation’s mission is to help artists in their time of need.

‘Dusty & Stones,’ an award-winning film about two country singers from the small African nation of Swaziland, opens in Laemmle Theaters Oct. 10. The film chronicles the journey of Gazi ‘Dusty’ Simelane and Linda ‘Stones’ Msibi on a 10-day road trip through the American South.

Quincy Jones and director Harriet Marin Jones delight in bringing ‘King of Kings: Chasing Edward Jones’ to cinemas this weekend, including the Cinemark 15 Theatres at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza.
