In the wake of the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters says law enforcement doesn’t do enough to ‘serve and protect’ minority communities. Black community leaders have long for increased resources for law enforcement to battle criminal activity.
The Rev. James Lawson, who died last month at the age of 95, is being promoted by members of Congress to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Lawson was one of the leaders of the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 60s.
