Governor orders removal of homeless camps throughout state
Gov. Gavin Newsom issued an executive order July 25 giving state agencies, cities and counties the green light to get rid of homeless encampments statewide. The order came in the wake of a U.S. Supreme Court decision allowing states to crack down on makeshift camps set up by homeless persons.
Mayor to return to Paris for Olympic closing ceremony
