LOS ANGELES —Dutch Bros Coffee has opened its first location in Los Angeles, opening Nov. 29 at 3726 S. Figueroa St., near USC. The store serves customers via a walk-up window.

Mayor Karen Bass was on hand, joining company officials and other community leaders and dignitaries for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Bass said the opening of the Oregon-based chain here was a strong signal that the city remains open for business and builds upon the mayor’s work to support local businesses, promote investment and create jobs in Los Angeles.

“Millions across the country have enjoyed having Dutch Bros in their city — and now Angelenos will feel that joy too,” Bass said. “I want to thank the Dutch Bros team for recognizing L.A.’s economy, community and future as the ideal city for investment.

“With the 2028 Olympic Games set to kick-off down the street at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum, the city will remain a committed partner in promoting job growth, creating new opportunities and supporting businesses all over Los Angeles.”

“I could not be more grateful for the opportunity to bring Dutch Bros Coffee to Los Angeles,” said regional operatorBrady Benner. “Bringing this location to Exposition Park and the greater Los Angeles community means we will have a space to bring love and light to each person we meet every day.”

Dutch Bros Coffee had three locations in Los Angeles County, before the new Figueroa Street location. The company now has 1,111 locations, each one serving a variety of handcrafted beverages including energy drinks, specialty coffee, nitrogen-infused cold brew, teas, lemonades, sodas and more.

Bass said Dutch Bros decision to locate in Exposition Park showed confidence in the local economy.

“As we welcome Dutch Bros, we will continue supporting job creation, expanding opportunity, and supporting businesses of every size,” Bass said. “This new location brings the company’s community-driven, people-first culture to one of Los Angeles’ most vibrant areas.

“Dutch Bros’ choice of Exposition Park reinforces that L.A. is open for business and that our city remains a strong place for growth,” she added.

Founded in 1992 by Dana and Travis Boersma in Grants Pass, Oregon, the first Dutch Bros location was a pushcart near the railroad tracks. The first franchise opened in 2000 and the chain quickly grew in the northwest.

In 2012, the company introduced its Blue Rebel energy drink.

Its national expansion continued in 2021 when franchises opened in Texas and Oklahoma.
