WEST HOLLYWOOD — The fourth annual Los Angeles Kids Book Festival returns to West Hollywood Park from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 23. The free event celebrates early childhood education, bilingualism and multiculturalism for young children and their families.

This year’s festival is presented by the American Born Chinese Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting children’s bilingual literacy and in partnership with the city of West Hollywood and sponsored by the Los Angeles Clippers.

The festival offers a day of storytelling, performances, and interactive educational fun for families with young children.

More than 100 children’s authors and illustrators will be in attendance, including both local and national creators.

“Our goal is to make literacy and multicultural education accessible and joyful for all families,” said Bonnie Hyde, founder and CEO of the Los Angeles Kids Book Festival. “With new panels, performances, and sensory-friendly spaces, this year’s festival is our most inclusive yet.”

A full day of family-friendly activities include live entertainment, food trucks, face painting, a children’s puppet theater, a quiet room providing a calming space for children needing a break from the excitement.
