“Activate the Call,” by Kanisha Bennett, is an exciting and inspiring book that helps readers position themselves to activate the call on their lives through learning how to identify, hear and respond to the voice of the Holy Spirit.

“Activate the Call” was inspired by Bennett’s children and dance students.

“I look in the faces of so many children who desire to be all they were created to be, but are distracted by the world,” said the author. “I want them to know they can be different and make a difference in the world.”

Inside the book, Bennett speaks about experiences she has had during the pursuit of her own dreams and offers advice and insight for readers. Some of the topics discussed include overcoming fears, pursuing dreams beyond being bullied, and not being distracted by others.

At the end of each chapter, she includes a section where readers can reflect on what they have read and also participate in action items.

“It was so important to write this book because there are so many people who have given up on their dreams, who have similar stories as mine who need to know they can’t give up,” Bennett said.

“Activate the Call” could be inspirational for some readers. The book is intended for anyone 18 and older who is pursuing new dreams or dreams that have died.

It’s the author’s hope that readers gain new vision and activation of their dreams.

“That they can dream again and be confident in who God created them to be,” Bennett said.

The author’s favorite part of her book is the introduction where she offers a quick overview of her life.

“It brings up so many memories and reminds me of my ‘why,’ which is helping children follow their dreams,” Bennett said. “To inspire people to answer the call, to follow the call, and to not be distracted by the world and what they have to say.”

In addition to being an author, Bennett is the owner/founder of Anointed Feet Dance. She also serves as the artistic director, choreographer, primary instructor and minister of arts.

She lives in Hawthorne with her family. For more information about the author and her work, visit anointedfeetdance.com.
