BOOK CORNER: Author offers insight into chronic fatigue in new book

“Chronic Fatigue Gone: A Recovery Plan,” by Jason Boyce, is an informative new book offering a range of potential remedies, both natural and pharmacological to help remedy all the symptoms of long COVID, myalgic encephalomyelitis, also known as chronic fatigue syndrome, lyme and fibromyalgia.

The book was inspired by events in the author’s own life as he navigated myalgic encephalomyelitis.

“My choices were to either live in my bedroom for the rest of my life and accept what the doctors told me, or to take affirmative action to change my life,” Boyce said. “I chose the latter and this became the inspiration for the book through sheer necessity.”

After being diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, Boyce experienced trial and error with hundreds of medication and therapy combinations.

“I documented everything in a journal and came up with a combination of different therapies that can truly relieve chronic fatigue,” Boyce said. “It was soon evident that I needed to share this information to help people like me.”

His book is intended for those with either chronic fatigue issues, chronic depression, insomnia, long COVID or those suffering from having low energy levels. It was important for Boyce to create a book that would aid others.

“Creating the book felt like a moral imperative rather than an impulse,” said Boyce. “I read a lot of books about chronic fatigue and many of them were helpful, but few, if any, provided a plan or any remedies for relieving fatigue.”

“Chronic Fatigue Gone” is written in a light-hearted manner that will no doubt make it more readable for readers. Inside the book, Boyce includes chapters that provide practical tools on how to manage depression, manage insomnia, maintain positivity, longevity techniques and much more.

“Other books about chronic fatigue can be a little dark and serious and can be either too technical or just dull,” Boyce said. “I tried to avoid those issues by letting my sense of humor infiltrate each chapter and I gave a warning before each technical section ‘science bit alert,’ which can be skipped over if desired.”
