“Happy Life at a Healthy Weight: Creating a Shame Free, Healthy Relationship with Food and Life,” by Kay Loughrey, is a new book that offers readers the tools to remove the roadblocks to their weight loss success.
The book was inspired by the author’s unhealthy relationship with food.
“I overate for years, yoyo diet for decades and look in the mirror and I didn’t even like who I saw. Then I got help,” Loughrey said. “This, my biggest challenge, gave me meaning and the fuel to help make a difference in the lives of other people who have felt controlled by food and overeating and struggle with their weight.”
“Happy Life at a Healthy Weight” is intended for adult readers who have repeatedly tried dieting to lose weight.
“I believe that instead of a lifetime of dieting, you deserve to live in the sweet spot of your life, with a healthy mind and body at the weight you want to be,” Loughrey said. “You deserve to live the life you’ve always wanted to live and look in the mirror and love who you see.”
In the book, Loughrey empowers readers through helping them identify: What causes the food-shame connection and how to heal it; 15 inner roadblocks and solutions to remove them; and a lifestyle guide for living a happy life at a healthy weight. She includes practical tips and addresses real-life obstacles such as chronic stress, getting a good night’s sleep, lack of consistency and more problems that can lead to overeating.
