Bruckner to serve as assistant city manager in Culver City

CULVER CITY — The city has announced the appointment of a new assistant city manager, Michael Bruckner. He will work alongside Assistant City Manager Jesse Mays and report to City Manager John Nachbar. 

“I think Harry Culver said it best when he stated that, ‘All roads lead to Culver City,’” Brucknew said. “I am deeply honored to be joining the city as assistant city manager. I look forward to working with the city’s leadership team to help build upon their foundation of innovation, collaboration and excellence in service to our community.”

Bruckner assumes the position following the retirement of Assistant City Manager Onyx Jones.

Bruckner has extensive experience in municipal government. He most recently served as the assistant city manager in Rosemead. He also has worked at the city of Arcadia and the city of Palo Alto. 

His experience includes a wide range of public engagement initiatives, homeless outreach, feasibility studies and city response to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Bruckner holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Sonoma State University as well as a master’s degree in public administration with a certificate in public finance from the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania.
