City Council candidates’ forum to be held virtually Oct. 6

WEST HOLLYWOOD — The city and West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will host a candidates’ forum for City Council candidates from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 6. in a virtual teleconference format.

Community members may view the forum live, on-demand, or via replay on WeHoTV by visiting the city’s website at www.weho.org/wehotv. The forum will also be aired on Spectrum Cable TV Channel 10 and on multiple streaming platforms, including the city’s YouTube channel (for live stream and replay) and on streaming services such as AndroidTV, AppleTV, FireTV, and Roku.

Streaming platform viewers can easily find programming by searching for “WeHoTV” within the search functions of these services.

Incumbents John Heilman and John Duran are seeking re-election Nov. 3 against a large group of challengers that include Larry Block, John Erickson, Noemi Torres, Sepi Shyne, Christopher McDonald, Tom Demille,  Jerome Cleary, Marco Colantonio and Mark Farhad Yusupov

Each candidate has been was invited to participate in the forum.

Candidate questions will be coordinated by the independent and non-partisan organization League of Women Voters of Los Angeles and the forum will feature an independent and impartial moderator, NBC4 anchor and news reporter Robert Kovacik.

Community members wishing to submit questions may do so by typing a question into the “chat” option available on the Zoom platform. A representative from the League of Women Voters of Los Angeles will sort those questions to eliminate duplicates and will ask questions directly to the candidates.
