Smythe Windwalker Daniels is in danger after getting entangled in a pesticide cover-up attempt by a mega corporation.

While on the run, she seeks to find meaning in her life and through a series of misadventures, she discovers how all events are woven together. Despite the realization that survival is difficult, Smythe uses her past experiences to find beauty in her present.

That’s the basis for “No Place to Hide” by Los Angeles native Opa Hysea Wise.

“No Place to Hide” is Wise’s first book and was inspired by her desire to present her audience with real-life lessons inside of a fictional book.

“As a nationally certified Jack Canfield success coach and corporate trainer with more than 20 years of experience, I know that many people avoid non-fiction books, and, consequently, miss out on powerful insights and life wisdom that could really hit home,” Wise said. “Often, such readers skip the self-help type books, finding they are too complex, unengaging or boring.”

Some of life’s lessons highlighted in the book include getting out of your comfort zone, learning your place in the universe, trusting in your own wisdom and much more.

“I really just wanted the readers to get a basic understanding of how they can finally get into the driver’s seat of their own life and move beyond what they think they can do,” Wise said.

Wise hopes readers gain a deeper understanding of the human condition after reading her book.

“There is beauty in the midst of chaos and above all, we are more the same than we are different,” Wise said. “I hope the book serves as a spiritual and philosophical guide that presents an opportunity for the audience to grow alongside the protagonist, without even realizing that it has happened.”

“No Place to Hide,” addresses topics like racial discrimination and ingrained belief systems.

This is a story that echoes Wise’s own life, as a lesbian woman of color who has experienced discrimination and has struggled to find a sense of belonging.

In addition to being an author, Wise is a life coach. For more information about the author, visit opahyseawise.com.
