BILL VAUGHAN’S TASTY CLIPS: Kerry Washington to receive star on Walk of Fame

Kerry Washington, who broke barriers as the first Black woman since 1974 to headline a network TV drama with “Scandal,” is getting honored with the 2,796th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Dec. 2, at 11:30 a.m. at 6258 Hollywood Blvd. in front of the W Hollywood Hotel. 

The Emmy-winning producer (“Live in Front of a Studio Audience”), Golden Globe-nominated actor (“Little Fires Everywhere”), New York Times bestselling author (“Thicker than Water”), director (“Insecure,” “Reasonable Doubt”), and activist will receive her star in the category of television. 

Joining emcee Steve Nissen will be Tyler Perry, who directed Washington in the upcoming Netflix World War II drama “The Six Triple Eight,” and “Scandal” creator Shonda Rhimes.

Most recently, she can be seen starring opposite Delroy Lindo in the second season of Hulu’s “UnPrisoned.” Washington also serves as an executive producer on the critically acclaimed Sundance Film Festival award-winning documentary “Daughters” now on Netflix.

RESPECTS: As a tribute to what would have been the 58th birthday of the late Michael K. Williams, an animated short featuring his last performance called “The Brown Dog” is now available for everyone to stream courtesy of its executive producers WeTransfer, Idris Elba, Chiwetel Ejiofor and his “Boardwalk Empire” co-star Steve Buscemi

“Michael had such a unique gift,” said Elba who was featured with Williams on “The Wire.” “He brought soul, depth and honesty to every role he played, and it’s an honor to continue his legacy through this film. I’m proud to help bring this beautiful, poignant story to life and ensure that Michael’s voice is heard, even after he’s gone.”

Adds Ejiofor, who worked with the actor on “12 Years a Slave”: “Michael K. Williams understood that bringing truth to a character was real work. That’s how talented of an actor he was. It is this same depth of his spirit that you experience onscreen in ‘The Brown Dog.’ I’m glad to be a part of a team that is continuing his legacy.”

Dec. 5 – “Brewster’s Millions: Christmas” (BET+): Richard Pryor Jr. and Rain Pryor have roles in this spinoff of their father’s classic film remodeled with a holiday spin and cast including Telma Hopkins, Romeo Miller, Tequan Richmond, and China Anne McClain. “Creature Commandos” (MAX): Viola Davis reprises her role as Amanda Waller for this animated send-up assembling monsters to fight the world’s greater threats. “Jokes On Us: New Voices in Comedy” (TUBI): Issa Rae is involved in the development of the streamer’s first original comedy special. “Snoop’s Fatherhood: Cori and Wayne’s Story (E!): Snoop Dogg has partnered with the network for this three-part docuseries which features his youngest daughter Cori Broadus and her fiancé, Wayne Duece
