“Chelsey Chip for President,” by Adrienne Lombard, is an exciting new fun and interactive children’s book chronicling a self-confident fourth-grader’s determination to make her big dreams and goals for her class come true.

“Chelsey Chip for President” was inspired by the author’s desire to address the shift in learning styles during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Once the school system shutdown, I wanted to create something fun for elementary school children,” Lombard said. “As an attempt to put the fun back in learning, no matter what the classroom looked like.”

“Chelsey Chip for President” is a unique book that not only tells the story of a young girl’s experience running for fifth grade class president but there are also learning exercises covering math, language arts, science and hands-on activities including cookie recipes.

It was important for Lombard to create a book that highlights the elementary school experiences.

“Elementary school was such a magical time for me, and seeing all of the different videos on social media of kids staring out the window or so disengaged during Zoom really hurt my heart,” Lombard said.

Chelsey and her friends experience what it’s like to run a student campaign and the obstacles and lessons that come with it. They learn important lessons about teamwork, utilizing one’s strengths, pivoting and more.

“Chelsey didn’t allow a ‘no’ to deter her from what she wanted to do,” Lombard said. “She didn’t let her dreams be crushed.”

“Chelsey Chip for President” is intended for elementary students grades three and higher.

It’s Lombard’s hope that her book provides insight for young readers.

“Insight into unconventional career paths, insight into leadership and teamwork, and insight into how to bake and create things with your hands,” said the author.

Lombard’s favorite part of her book are the cookie recipes in the back of the book.

“Baking is one of my favorite things to do,” said the author.

“Chelsey Chip for President” is the author’s first children’s book. It is her hope to create a coloring book and to also write a part two to “Chelsey Chip for President.”

In addition to being an author, Lombard is a server and model. She is based in Los Angeles. For more information about the author and her work, visit adriennepamela.net. Also, visit Instagram @chels4prez.
