State grant helps put Lynwood students on career paths
Lynwood Unified School District students will be able to enhance career technical education pathways through a $2.2 million Golden State Pathways Program grant. Through the program, the district will form academic and industry partnerships to provide students with hands-on training.

Exide battery plant may be added to EPA Superfund list
Large tarps supported by scaffolding cover what remains of the Exide Technology plant in Vernon. The federal Environmental Protection Agency has added the site to its national priorities list of Superfund sites. The listing could pave the way for federal resources to fund and oversee cleanup efforts of the contaminated groundwater.
