MONTEBELLO — The new Topgolf facility is now open at the Montebello Golf Course.

The three-story, 65,000-square-foot facility is part of a $47 million renovation at the course.

The  city continues to own the course, which is operated by Troon, one of the world’s largest companies dealing in golf course management.

The golf course renovation includes a new clubhouse as well as water features across the entire golf course development.

There are now two golf courses. The first course is a traditional course that can be played as a nine-hole or 18-hole course. The second course features a new nine-hole, par three course.

McCarthy Building Companies handled the construction of the Topgolf facility. It features 102 hitting bays, a kitchen, 425 parking spaces with 22 electric vehicle charging stations.

“Working with Topgolf for a third time and the city of Montebello for the first time was truly a dream for McCarthy, said Andrew Raufi, vice president and project executive for McCarthy. “Despite encountering some weather challenges, we were able to deliver the project on time with zero recorded safety incidents while engaging local small business partners to help complete the project. Overall, it was a triumph.”

The city of Montebello financed the project through a series of revenue bonds.

“Topgolf not only enhances Montebello’s entertainment options but also underscores our dedication fostering economic growth and providing top-notch recreational experiences for residents and visitors alike,” Montebello Mayor Scarlet Peralta said.

The project took 15 months to complete.
