“No One Plans to Fail but Many Fail to Plan: Divine Direction and Connection,” by Crystal King Iwuoma, is an eye-opening new book that urges homeowners, married couples, engaged couples and single partners to take proactive steps in organizing their affairs.
Iwuoma was inspired to write the book following the sudden passing of her husband after 34 years of marriage and unexpectedly having to go to probate.
“I share my personal experience of having to fight for ownership of my home due to inadequate paperwork, highlighting the critical need for preparedness,” the author said.
In the book, Iwuoma shares her story of loss and highlights the crucial role of proper documentation in preventing probate complications and potential legal disputes.
“I don’t want anyone to go through what I went through,” she said. “I want to educate and inform people that they don’t have to go through probate. This can be avoided.”
Along with sharing her experience navigating probate and setting up a revocable living trust, Iwuoma provides a step-by-step checklist to help readers take proactive measures to avoid probate. She emphasizes the importance of completing key documents, such as a transfer on death deed, living will, durable power of attorney and last will and testament.
This is the author’s third book addressing the unexpected death of her husband and the events that followed. “There’s Beauty in My Brokenness” and its accompanying prayer journal, “God’s Love for the Grieving Widow,” offer comfort and guidance to those experiencing loss. She is currently working on a fourth book, which will be a workbook providing more in-depth actions readers can take to get their affairs in order.
In addition to being an author, Iwuoma operates the home-based bakery Serendipity Tasty Treats and she facilitates a group called Honored Widows. She also participates in speaking engagements.
