“Love: The Guiding Rudder,” by Faith Rudder, is a new guidebook for finding and maintaining loving relationships.
“What inspired me to write ‘Love: The Guiding Rudder’ is that I believe if I would have had a guide on love and relationships I would have been able to understand myself and my partner better and would’ve been able to articulate my emotions effectively,” Rudder said.
Inside the book, Rudder explores various types of love including romantic, familial and platonic. The chapters are organized around a variety of topics, including understanding yourself, identifying your ideal partner, finding potential partners, the pros and cons of seeking a partner at social events, getting to know someone, strategies for deepening your connection and building intimacy, reflecting on personal growth and self-improvement, maintaining passion and romance over time, and more.
“Love: The Guiding Rudder” is intended for a universal audience as it can prove beneficial to all persons on their journeys with love.
Rudder’s favorite parts of her book are the areas where she includes inspiring stories and interviews from others regarding love and relationships.
“I like to hear what other people are dealing with or how they are dealing with situations concerning love,” Rudder said.
It was important for Rudder to create a book that would help others not only understand themselves but also their partners and ultimately build good, lasting relationships.
“The topics, advice and information will help readers question themselves and where they are in their relationships with others and themselves,” said the author. “I believe that in order for us to have good relationships, we need to be able to practice self-care and take care of ourselves first so that we can be in a position to give to others.”
“Love: The Guiding Rudder” is the author’s first book. She is currently working on her second book, which will be a novel based on her life.
In addition to being an author, Rudder is the creator and executive producer of “Designers of Los Angeles.” She is based in Long Beach.
